Cerebral Soup - The Archives
Blog movements have been afoot....
As insane have things have been - in my time off (ie 11pm - 3am) I've done a bit of work on the following:
Keitai Goddess: [http://www.keitaigoddess.com]
Goodbye Wordpress - Hello Express Engine -> the moblogging function wasn't cutting it on Wordpress in the end - but seems to be cutting it very nicely so far on Expression Engine. Backend interface is a lot tidier too - not to mention being able to have templates which don't leave you cross-eyed when you look at them.
Have lost my interest in Wordpress quite a bit. Sure I can build sites in it - but much prefer not to. And there is some seriously weird stuff going down when trying to delete spam comments from the system.....
Threads of Gold: [http://www.threadsofgold.info]
Please note the new url! Threads of Gold is no longer at http://www.threadsofgold.info/blog. Also there are new urls for the RSS feeds too.
ToG is also now on Expression Engine. I've also kind of washed my hands of Movable Type of late. I like building things modular - without having to rebuild an entire blog when I've made a change. Been using MT for years..... but I guess I've outgrown it now. We love built in functions like pagination!
I actually have "levelled up" on the server front, and instead of hosting (and helping to knock out) Tod's server I've got myself a dedicated virtual server to play on. Thanks to UltraBob I can now set up a few sites here using EE without any drama - which has been fabulous.
And this one will shock you....
Art Brain: [http://www.art-brain.org]
After much discussion - we have relaunched the Boy's blog, also moving it over to Expression Engine from MT. So far the Boy feels much more comfortable with EE than MT - which is a big plus because I'll be telling you about a new interesting work project soon which is also EE based and which he'll be writing for. More on that later!
Also coming up - JapanBloggers Webring is on the move, as is this blog Cerebral Soup (which will have a permanent url change as well), as well as the marshmallow spike sites, a new version of todeco and finally even my own portfolio site! All pretty exciting and guaranteeing me a complete lack of sleep.
As I mentioned in a previous entry I have some interesting sites launching - and if the planets are aligned correctly - a couple should be this week.
It's all GO GO GO on the mjd-s front.
