Too slack to take photos...
...but it was another groovy blogger meetup that we had.
Being stuck in my little working world can get boring sometimes...it's nice to get out and see people face to face.
Had a little bit of an odd experience on the train - but it was my fault really. I was standing over this young Japanese guy who was sitting down and I noticed that his arm was very scarred. He had two nose piercings so I thought he would be cool to talk wth so I started a conversation. He pulled the earphones out and explained to me that he was listening to an unknown punk Japanese band. We both got off at Shinjuku and he waited with me on the platform - even though he'd missed his train and was just gonna hang in Shinjuku until it was time for him to go to his construction job in the morning.
Before my train came along he told me that he'd given himself the scars on his arm after he broke up wth his "darling". He looked at me and I said that that was sad, but I'm married so that kinda angst is no longer on my agenda. I didn't mention that me being ten years older than him tends to give you a different perspective (^^).
As my train pulled into the station he gave me an MD (minidisc) of the band he was listening to. I was surprised that he did so. I asked him if it was really ok - he said that he could make another copy and that he'd see me around. He also said he'd look out for the Marshmallow Spike live when we do it. Then he left to spend the night only goodness knows where...
A the bloggers meetup venue there were actually some other people having a bit of a piss up. They had meishi with the word "paper" on them. Bunch of crazy Japanese guys. One of them and I have almost the same tattoo - except his was on his head and it was hard to see (as his hair was quite long). I might email them just for fun (^^).
I don't know why I always end up talking to strangers. It's just this habit I have. When I see interesting people I want to talk to them. I don't think it's a character flaw. It makes me happy that they want to speak to me too...

Added by: dumb american at 2003年05月22日 09:21Opportunity for people to get together and consume alcohol together in a convivial atmosphere. (American equivalent might be a rather unoriginal "drinking party")
Colloquial British English, pinched by our Aussie cousins.
MJ,see ya round like a rissole.
Yea I got one of those business cards too, I'm not sure if I'll act on it yet. Maybe we should make a suprise visit to their fashion shoppe as a group @@;

Sorry for being such an unavailable friend. Remember how distracted and wrapped up in Yoshi you were when you guys frist met? Well ive got nothing like that, so i have no excuse. And i promise to be more available in the future.
I had to come and check ya blog today cos the story you told me last night was incomprehensible (do you remember ringing me? I barely remember it!) but now i get it. And all i can say is, you do attract them, dont you!
Love and Frequent Visits Soon,
j-ster
ps: GG, for some reason, mothers love me, they think im so sweet and polite, I dont know what it is, but you and Ms. Cerebral are on your own in that corner...
