Birthday dinner mania
Tonight was the all-in-one J-family Birthday dinner.
Now I'm not a snob - but this restaurant was lacking. The food was OK (though I immediately take points off for using dried pasta - hell if I can make my own then a restaurant can), but the service was lacking.
Perhaps I'm sensitive but:
You don't bring out the next course when people are still eating the current one.
You don't bring out chilled red wine in an Italian restaurant.
You don't say to a group of people that the last order is 9:00pm, when they have booked and one member has been detained at work until that time. And they are racking up a 30,000 yen bill.
You don't have fresh oysters wriiten on the chalkboard menu and then at 7:00pm exclaim you are out.
You don't claim to be a fine dining restaurant and give out disposable oshibori.
You don't have staff who all look as if they are going through period cramps.
Next time I will choose the restaurant. How hard can a bit of thoughtful service be?
